On the road to Vegas

Cheesecake & In n Out

Some say it's the best fastfood burger in the world and I happen to agree, so we took a trip to the Barstow In n Out. And so did a lot of other people.......

It's not fast, but it sure is good!

Movie making

Being at the actual friends set was really cool!

This was the cafe where ER people went to get their food.

Hurray for Hollywood!

MJ's final house....
We did not sleep there.

Thessa and Janine relax at - REAL - Central Perk!
Janine almost attacked by corny serial killer.

road tripping

We set off from San Francisco last thursday so we have been on the road for about a week now. From SF we went to Yosemite, then on to LA, where we stayed a few days. Then we visited Las Vegas and today to Flagstaff, Arizona. Motel heaven!

We saw huge trees, big star's houses, beaches, lots of coffee and restaurants, shops, mountains, rivers, and all kinds of other stuff. We sang along with corny songs, had way too much to eat in Vegas, laughed at other cars and stepped on the brakes when we saw a police car arriving...

San Francisco

SF is shopping heaven and after three months of work and not much play, it was hard to discern which things to buy and which things not to buy.... Still, great shopping revenue!

Great to be back here. The streets are long and steep, beautiful houses and ugly ones between them, it barely changed since I was here in 2000. Just as many homeless people as well, which is kind of shocking when you come from Maastricht, where the homeless people still get their beer at the Albert Heijn....

Bought a Lonely Planet of the US, which for the traveller is kind of like a peace sign for a hippy: a bit pathetic, but essential all the same....

Back in Sydney

Maarten is wondering if he has been timewarped to a new era. After spending so much time in rural New Zealand, who can blame him?

Sydney skyline in the evening on a boat with lots of people who were having a bad hair day, it seemed.

The opera house never ceases to be amazing. And Maarten pointed out to me that it's made of tiles!

Manly beach, after which I had a mini glass of liquid chocolate at the famous 'chocolate by the bald man Max Brenner' - store. I tell you, ladies, that glass of chocolate was better than...

well, at least solid chocolate, let's leave it at that.
Roadtripping is so much fun! With the music on watching the scenery slide by screaming your lungs out.

Somewhere along the coast on the northern part of the north island.

Our rental car is called Mr. Happy.
