Liam's birthday started out with a breakfast at home, followed by a trip to Aachen, Germany, where we picked out a few gifts at the toystore. Then we had coffee at Starbucks and played games.
Liam is very proud to show you all that he can now stand, and even walk a little bit!

Life with Liam
I love the way he sighs after drinking a few sips of water.
I love his smell in his p-j’s after an evening bath.
I love the feeling of his head on my shoulder when he’s tired.
I love his serious gaze out the window in the morning when we greet the sun and the birds together.
I adore his smile.
I hate to worry about him when he’s sick.
I’m jealous of his carelessness.
I’m excited when I get to pick him up from daycare.
I’m relieved to take him there after a few days at home.
I feel guilty when I’m happy without him.
I love reading him a book.
The way he talks to himself makes me smile,
I’m happy to watch him sleep.
I’m bored when he doesn’t want to play alone all day.
I feel sad whenever he feels sad.
I’m frustrated when he doesn’t want to eat or sleep,
I’m scared when I don’t hear him when I wake up.
He’s the most interesting person I have ever known,
And I love his wit.
I like to stroke his soft blond hair.
I feel lucky to be his mom.
I miss the feeling of being a free agent,
But I miss him whenever he’s not with me.
I’m sad and scared to know I can’t protect him from everything bad.
I hate to realise I won’t ever not worry about him.
He is all of that and more.
He is the greatest lesson I ever learned.
He makes me feel.
He makes me feel alive.
