Indiana Jones & Tomb raider for a day

Angelina Jolie shot Tomb Raider at Angkor Wat. She stayed here for quite a while and eventually even adopted a Cambodian boy here. All Cambodians know her and like her. I think it's only a matter of time before Madonna decides to film her next video here.

You had to climb very steep steps to a tempel on a hill to see this sunset. We joined hundreds of tourists up there. Quite a unique opportunity, isn't it? Just like riding an elephant is. Or the balloon flight. Or the original baggy linen pants all the Asian people are supposed to wear, but only the tourists actually do. Or the floating markets on the Mekong river.

Sorry. At times this trip brings out the cynic in me. Looking for unique experiences and maximum enjoyment, all of us tourists seem to march to Lonely Planet's beat, letting ourselves be talked into buses taking us to places where we all gather and take out our Canons and Nikons and pat ourselves on the backs for being the explorers that we are.
